The LinkedIn Recommendations for Qasim Khilji

LinkedIn Recommendations for Qasim Khilji

I am honored to say that I have worked with great teachers, colleagues, executives and employees in last five years. The LinkedIn recommendations were the best platform where I came to know what I am actually in the eyes of other people. My colleagues, teachers and immediate supervisor wrote me recommendation comments on LinkedIn. I really valued these recommendations on LinkedIn. For me, the LinkedIn is not just a place where you find opportunities but it is also a place where opportunities find you. These recommendations are the reason that I am working hard to bring more improvement in my skills and personality. Here are some recommendations:

Professor at Maricopa Community Colleges
Internship Supervisor at VITA Program

Qasim participated in the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program at Scottsdale Community College. As the VITA Site Coordinator and Qasim’s faculty mentor for the internship, I had the opportunity to witness Qasim’s characteristics, skills, and abilities firsthand.

The first characteristic I noticed was Qasim’s willingness to take on challenges. To participate in VITA, a tax preparer must achieve IRS-certification on US tax law. I warned Qasim this may be difficult for him. Although he has an accounting background, US tax law is unique, and I warned him it could be difficult to master. He did not shy away from the challenge, became VITA-certified, and helped many people by preparing their tax returns.

The second characteristic I noticed was selflessness. He was more than willing to help others, and he spent more time volunteering at VITA than was required of his internship. He expressed a desire to one day set up a VITA-like program in Pakistan to help others there.

Finally, Qasim demonstrated drive and initiative to help the VITA program. Without being asked, he and a few of his friends produced a video that we are using to market the VITA program. That video has been shared with college and IRS officials who are using it to create awareness of the VITA program.

I would highly recommend Qasim as a member in any organization!

Sincerely,

Jim Simpson, PhD, CPA

It is rare to come across person with the talent of Qasim Khilji.

I am pleased to recommend Qasim, who recently completed my courses entitled, GBS151 – Introduction to Business and MGT253 – Owning and Operating a Small Business.

During and after these courses, Mr. Khilji has been exceptional in many respects. First, he has demonstrated above average intelligence and insight. Second, he is a quick study and mastered the course competencies more rapidly than most students. Third, Qasim’s assignments and projects were always informative, concise and factual.

Qasim has an extraordinary ability to apply knowledge, precepts and concepts to areas outside the classroom. The quality of his work, as well as the insightful questions he raised in class, clearly demonstrate his ability to analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources. Qasim has also shown the ability to combine academic knowledge with his life and business experience.

Finally, he is very good at communicating on several levels. He is extremely businesslike, while maintaining a polite and civil tone. In other situations, he can be informal while maintaining a high level of professionalism. His written communication is clear, accurate and to the point.

It has truly been a pleasure working with Mr. Khilji this year, and he has my highest recommendation. I am confident he will be a tremendous asset to any organization.
